Home Learning

Home learning tasks are set weekly on Microsoft Teams and can be found on the ‘General Posts’ page, as well as under your child’s ‘Assignments’ tab.

We ask that all children are encouraged to explore books and read for pleasure daily at home.

Evidence Me
Children’s learning and development is recorded in school using ‘Evidence Me’. You will be sent regular updates on your child’s in-school activities, and we ask that you share with us any new learning or ‘Proud Parent Moments’ that takes place at home via this system.

Reception

Home Learning

Children will bring home daily ‘Read, Write, Inc’ letter of the day sheets and will have access to videos to further support their phonics knowledge at home.

We ask that all children are encouraged to explore books and read for pleasure daily at home.

Year One

Home Learning

Children will be given a home reading book to take home every Monday. They are expected to read this book each evening with a parent or family member, who should then sign the Record Card. The book must be brought back to school on Friday and will be changed. Homework also consists of a set of weekly spellings which will go home on Monday and should be learned in preparation for our weekly Friday spelling test. Maths homework will also go home on Monday and be returned by Friday and will focus on basic mathematical skills. There will also be phonics videos posted on our Microsoft Teams page for the children to watch and practise along with each week.

Year Two

Year Four

Home Learning

Homework will be set each Monday. The child will receive: a set of spellings to learn, a times table focus set on TT Rockstars, and a home reading book will be sent home for your child to read. The spelling list for the year can be found here Y4 Spellings Overview. Children will complete a test the following week based on their spelling and multiplication focus. Children are encouraged to read daily at home.

Year Five

Home Learning

Homework will be set each Monday. The child will receive: a set of spellings to learn, a times table focus set on TT Rockstars, and a home reading book will be sent home for your child to read. In addition, pupils will have accounts for either Reading Plus or IDL, where they are able to complete tasks which will test their vocabulary acquisition and comprehension of the texts they are reading.

Year Six

Home Learning

Homework will be set each Monday. Children will receive: a set of spellings to learn and use in sentences on MS Teams, a times table focus set on TT Rockstars, and a home reading book will be sent home for your child to read. In addition, pupils will have accounts for either Reading Plus, where they are able to complete tasks which will test their vocabulary acquisition and comprehension of the texts they are reading.

In Year 6, children will also be expected to complete weekly Maths and English homework tasks in homework books, preparing them for Secondary School readiness.

Homework is to be completed and returned to school on Friday.
