Home Learning
We ask that all children are encouraged to explore books and read for pleasure daily at home. Children will bring home a ‘Reading for Pleasure’ book on a Monday and this should be returned on Friday.
Tapestry
Children’s learning and development is recorded in school using ‘Tapestry’. You will be sent regular updates on your child’s in-school activities, and we ask that you share with us any new learning or ‘Proud Parent Moments’ that takes place at home via this system.

Children will receive ‘Read, Write, Inc’ videos set through Arbor on a Monday.

Home Learning
Children will be given a home reading book to take home every Monday. They are expected to read this book each evening with a parent or family member, who should then sign the Record Card. The book must be brought back to school on Friday and will be changed.
Home learning also consists of a set of weekly spellings which will go home on Monday and should be learned in preparation for our weekly Friday spelling test. Maths home learning will also go home on Monday and be returned by Friday and will focus on basic mathematical skills.
There will also be ‘Read, Write, Inc’ videos sent home via Arbor for the children to watch and practise along with each week.

The spelling list for the year can be found here Y4 Spellings Overview. Children will complete a test the following week based on their spelling and multiplication focus. Children are encouraged to read daily at home.

In addition, pupils have accounts for Reading Plus where they are able to complete tasks which will test their vocabulary acquisition and comprehension of the texts they are reading.
Additionally, all pupils have access to TT Rockstars – which can be used to learn and revise times tables knowledge.
